
But, did you know that dogs can get sunburned just like people can? Dogs are especially susceptible to sunburn if they have lighter noses and ears or if they have short hair. Bellies on the beach tend to sunburn quickly because of the reflection of the sun from the sand.
Caution should be used when taking us to the beach or allowing us to bask in the sun for too long. Using a light protective clothing [like the stylish shirt I have on in this picture] protects the body from excess sun exposure. A hypoallergenic sunscreen is also effective on the nose and ears.
As much as I love the sun, I realize too much of a good thing can lead to pain. In this case, sunburn pain! Moderation will be my motto this year. Anyone up for a game of beach volleyball? So there's still snow on the ground. One can plan.
